I only discovered this diamond a month or so ago and I have no idea how I ever lived without it! I hear my pc friends complaining about pop ups and crap loads of banners on websites and I'm like: "There's banners on that website?" God, it's amazing. You shouldn't surf the web without this thing. And its so damn simple to boot!

So ein Kommentar zwingt einen doch geradezu dazu, das Programm mal zu testen. Zumal, wenn ich ein Programmbeschreibung sich so liest:

Problem: I hate ads. Solution: Kill my television. Better Solution: Content-filter my web pages...

The PithHelmet adds some basic but powerful content filtering to Apple's Safari browser. The basic purpose is to filter advertisements, but there are other potential uses as well (blocking Flash, Shockwave or horrible midi loops). This is just a quick hack on top of Apple's basic framework, but it seems to work rather effectively.

Ich hab es sogleich installiert (Achtung. Safari muss dazu geschlossen werden) und es funktioniert prima. Deutsche Sprache ist mit dabei und wenn ich das richtig sehe, dann ist auch Spiegel.de jetzt werbefrei (sprich, es blockt auch deutsche Werbung).

Wobei blocken nur heisst, dass es nicht angezeigt wird. Geladen wird die Werbung trotzdem, so what.

Fazit: Unbedingt empfehlenswert!
